Artisan soap bar with olive oil: Argan
The Argan tree (Argania Spinosa) is a tree of the Sapotaceae family that grows only in the southwestern regions of Morocco.
Argan oil is composed of up to 95% triglycerides whose main fatty acids are oleic and linoleic acid (omega-3 acids) and several omega-6 acids. These compounds re-lipidize the skin, thus helping to restore and maintain its barrier function and improve hydration by preventing the loss of natural water.
In smaller amounts, argan oil also contains polyphenols such as ferulic acid and tocopherols (vitamin E) which together help to improve skin elasticity by promoting the synthesis of collagen and elastic fibers.
All of these components give argan oil anti-inflammatory, regenerative, and healing properties that make it suitable for reducing scars and wrinkles and providing the skin with suppleness and smoothness.
Unlike rosehip oil, argan oil does not clog pores. Therefore, it is recommended even for people with oily skin and/or acne, with very favorable results in the recovery of residual marks or scars.
